I'm just curious if there are any owners of the new Mini in North Carolina. According to miniusa.com, the only dealer in NC is in Winston Salem. But I can almost swear I saw one in the lawn of the BMW dealer right beside where I work in Chapel Hill.

Basically, I have a 2001 Nissan Frontier I would like to sell or put as a trade in towards a Mini. Any suggestions for a place close to (or in) NC that that would work with me and won't screw me with crazy mark ups?

And how long are these waiting lists? How much are the deposits usually?

Also, I'm curious about the gas mileage on these? I'm interested in the non-S model with manual transmission.

Thanks,
Mike Walters

Flow MINI in W-S is selling at MSRP. I've got Cooper on order to be delivered in June. I think the aftermarket is starting to grow - that may be why you saw one in Chapel Hill.
I flew to NY last Thur and bought another Cooper at Westchester MINI (@ MSRP) and drove back all the same day. Didn't want to wait until June, but I may own two when it comes in. My plan is to sell the one I bought last week before my June order comes in.
Both are Indi Blue w/ Prem Pkg, Panther Leather, fog lights and chrome bumpers. The one I have now also has 16" 5 star silver wheels and heated seats. It's gonna be hard to let it go.
Good luck. (I'm trying to sell a 2000 Frontier coming off lease soon)

So I found out why I saw the Mini at a BMW dealer in Chapel Hill. Turns out it was at the Chevrolet dealer next to it (they share parking lots with the BMW dealer). I saw it today during my lunch break, and drove over to take a look. I told the salesman I wanted to take a look, and he just rolled his eyes. Apparently, it belongs to the owner of the dealer, and he just likes to show it off in the lawn. It was a beautiful yellow model with a white top. I'd show it off too.

I'm going to Winston Salem to see the ones actually for sale this weekend
