Hey guys,

Finally joined, but been using the site for a while now. I've had my dark blue 04 R53 for almost 6 years, and driven it 80k of its 120k miles. Been a really fun car to have, gotten me from Virginia to Texas on several occasions and been trusty nearly the whole time. May be moving on to a new car in a couple years, but looking to make sure it lasts me in the meantime.

Personally, I'm a music lover, sports watcher, and car enthusiast now living in the DFW area in Texas.

Welcome, SpeedBiscuit. I also have a 2004 Mini (MC40) and live in the DFW area. It's torn down (FESM) at the moment for an A/C coil change, crank sensor o-ring replacement, supercharger service, underdrive SC pulley/belt, water pump, thermostat change and possibly a front oil seal. I haven't been able to find an active club in the DFW area. If you do, please let me know.

Thanks 48! I'm actually considering a teardown for a similar project, I'd be happy to hear how yours goes. I'll look around and see if there's a club, you see enough cars around here to have one for sure.

SB, once you have the car in front end service mode (FESM), everything is relatively accessible but sometimes I wish I had smaller hands! Mine has a ways to go before all the repairs/maintenance are complete (recent surgery is delaying my plan for at least six weeks). If you haven't discovered ModMini on YouTube yet, check him out for fantastic and instructional repair videos.

Yeah, managed to replace the o-ring and oil pan gasket last summer! Just worried about making sure everything gets back where it's supposed to haha. Gonna service the supercharger, replace the water pump and probably redo the whole coolant system while I'm down there. Should be a good project. The mini is my commuter though, so I have to get it all done pretty quick.

Edit: have watched several ModMini videos, his work is great.

Thanks! She's got some cosmetic stuff with the clear coat coming off and the roof liner sagging, but she runs like a charm.
