Not new, but returning member

So about 4 years ago (12/06/14), I unfortunately totaled my r56 and was devistated.

Purchased a Kia Optima after my R56 to forcibly slow me down, it didn't work however. Last February I purchased a 2006 Suzuki SV650 and for some unknown reason thought it was a good idea to commute in northern Virginia traffic. Unfortunately I had someone pull out in front of me while i was doing ~50mph and t-boned them, after a surgery and a 6 month recovery I was on the prowl for a new toy. Well I recently received a decent settlement from the accident and pulled the trigger on my latest love, my 2015 F56S.

So far I've:
Played with coding including
  • Rear fogs on w/ brakes
  • Front fogs on w/ highs
  • Comfort opening and closing w/ auto folding mirrors
  • Default to sport mode
Blacked out headlight ring and gas cap
----Purchased BC Racing coilovers awaiting arrival

Many many more mods to come.

Welcome back to the fold. Sorry to hear about you two accidents and good to hear of your recovery. Your new MINI looks great.

Similar to your KIA experience, I bought a Hyundai Sonata a while back thinking the 274 HP turbo would be fun. Fast yes, but not fun.

You may want to consider reflective stripes and limit the modifications to cosmetic. (I am a father - it is tough to get out of the role.)

Most of my mods will be cosmetic, one of the other "planned" mods is a Miltek high flow downpipe and a remus exhaust, however mainly for a better exhaust note. (I'm addicted to the pops and gurgles)
Being a "in training" father (my son will be turning 3 in December) I'm slowly getting out of the gotta-go-fast mentality not to mention my wife nixed the prospect of another bike and reluctantly okay-ed the mini. It's like she wants me around or something

Another mod I forgot to mention is Friday shes getting some tint! 35% all around.

Good suggestion!

Welcome back to Mini life. Maybe wrap the car in neon yellow or fire orange?

I'm actually really digging the gray look, I think with this one I'm going less "Bumblebee" and more "Megatron" lol

On another note, anyone know any good sites where i can order some custom lettering for the windows? This one has been dubbed by the wife as The Brave Little Toaster and I think it needs that on the back glass

I saw that hill in the background of your upside-down picture and guessed you might have left the ground!

How did you manage to do that?

Looks like the MINI protected you well. Sorry to hear about the motorcycle experience, years ago someone pulled out in front of me when I was doing 50mph and that was plenty exciting. Fortunately I was in my BMW 325i, totalled the car but walked away with just a scratch.

Drive safe!

And thank you! It's been a joy to own, since my purchase not even a month ago, I've already got to spend 4k miles with her.

Welcome back. Getting back into NAM myself now that we have added an R56 to the fleet after more than three years of being MINI-less. A couple of cosmetic enhancements have taken place and the big one is happening shortly - hope it looks good when it's done....
Your new car looks great!
