Nub here from SC

Noob here from SC!!!

I bought myself a British Racing Green, with white roof, 2011 MCS back in March. Long story short, I put about 10k miles on it, and it popped the cup plug out of the cylinder head. One 4 gallon milkshake later? I am on the path of a build that is going to be nothing short of autocross ready...

I am having Sneed4Speed build me a long block for it. I bought a new turbo (The K03 42MM quick spool from Mini Mania) a larger intercooler, an NM intake, a Quaife differential, a Clutch masters Clutch with flywheel and a set of BC BR coilovers.

Still haven't decided what all else I want to do, but the budget is spent for now. I know at some point in time, I would like to get rims, tires and an exhaust system. Maybe some seats and a roll cage?

Before I brought her home

The Milkshake... Looks tasty!

Welcome to NAM.

Too bad about the Mocha Shake you got.

Would think a stiffer rear swaybar would help out and as it appears you are more than quite capable of turning your own wrenches and quite cheap all things considered.

I'll tack the sway bar onto the list!

But, yeah... Ten years of being expected to support every product Cummins makes, from a 2.8 liter 4 cylinder. To a 95 liter V16... Including my current role in advanced diagnostics and technical support. This little 1.6 is one of the biggest challenges I have come across

Welcome and crazy to see what coolant can do.

I would do a roll cage and some recaro seats. Good luck on the build and you should post up a build thread.

Cleaning up after a milk shake is so much fun.

I still have nightmares about spending 30 hours straight on a crew boat, in Venice, Lousiana. Powered by five 50L V16's, they held about 48 gallons of coolant a piece (9000SHP total for the vessel). It had a hole in one of it's gear oil coolers, and the mix came out of the engine the color and consistency of pepto!!!

I have seen a few really nice builds that include a cage, I will have to find one that leaves most of my storage intact, as I do use the car for work, and need to carry some tooling with me from time to time.

Probably not the place for reviews, but I just have to add. I bought my clutch from your shop, and I was very impressed. There was a billing issue on my end, and Tammy called me back the next day to follow up and see if I had gotten it resolved. I was very surprised with the initiative!!! I will definitely be bringing business back to you as I move on with the build!

Hi and welcome to the NAM family.
Congrats on your Mini purchase and finding us!
Sorry about the milkshake, but it seems as though you are working your way through to what will become a fabulous Mini!
There is lots of info here and help online with others, who can help you get that Mini, to where you want it!
I had an 05 Mini Cooper S i BRG and really loved it, but I found an 06 MCS JCW model, that I had been looking for for over 8 months! My sister sold my 05 BRG to a gal in Bend Oregon and she just loved the car as I did, so I let her have it!
It is still near and dear to my heart!

Here is my 05 Mini S, that moved on to a new owner
