another noob here
Hello,
Just got my new used mini CM JCW 2014 model with 37000 miles on it.
Now that I got one, I'm looking into modding it. Kind of confused, I see alot of thread about modding these cars but mostly from cooper or cooper S to get them up to speed. I think I'm gonna post in the CM section but am interested if possible to get directed towards the right threads that speak about:
1. JCW intake, exaust and turbo. Are they as good as the aftermarket stuff everybody hear is talking bout?
2. The roads I drive on are bad, lots of pot holes, bumps, harsh asfalt, almost Rally conditions, hense looking to lift my CM and put larger tires.
3.... nope, that about does it, love the car, its a blast to drive, but just want to get it up to my standards for where I drive.
thanks ahead of time, I really enjoying some of the reading hear on the board.
cheers

Welcome to NAM. The Countryman is a good handling vehicle, the JCW aspect just makes it even better. Any pictures????
Yes, good idea to post in the CM section as there are some members that have modded their CMs and should be able to help you sort things out.
And thanks for taking the time to get involved. There are well over 4 million post here on NAM and hopefully you will keep adding to that number.

Thanks for the warm welcome...No pictures yet. Just the factory stuff.
I am curious about one thing though, mine is standard transmission and it feals like the clutch engages near the end of the through ( when I let out the pedal.) It's notable when coming out of first gear. Is this a sign of wear and will likely need replacing soon or this the normal for these these transmisions?

Welcome. Post up some pics .
Check in the R60 section and under modifications. Yes there are people that mod these cars too, but more people mod the R56, R53 of course.

Hi and welcome to NAM!
Congrats on your buy!
On harsh roads, run flat tires are a big mistake, so if you have them ditch them and get a repair kit and electric air pump, to use if you get a flat!9you could also get a spare from a non S car and carry that!
Run flats are always hard on suspension parts. Harsh road increase damage with run flats.
Pics would be nice to see!

Thanks for the replies.
I just had a manic stage one performed and definitely am loving these little cars.
Brings back nostalgic stories of my father in his slalom racing and rally days (he used to talk about the minis and datsun 510 handeling well). Also brings me that fealing of my karting days.... These cars love a tune! night and day difference.
