New Mini Owner

My wife and I just joined the fortunate Mini Cooper S owners. We purchased a used 2005 convertible with 18,000 miles. The car looks brand new, drives and sounds great. Lots has changed in automotive technology since 2005. So, we want to add automatic off headlights and Bluetooth connectivity for the radio. In reading the forums, the Bluetooth may be a bit of a challenge as we have the HK stereo.

Great looking car. I bought mine in the end of November. For Bluetooth I purchased a new Garmin gps with a forward camera, Bluetooth connection for the phone for calls, traffic, weather, videos of drives and a few other features. It won’t help for music but I expect to enjoy the sounds of the supercharger and the popping of the exhaust.

The technology I miss the most is a backup camera. I tried the Garmin backup camera but gave up on it. I found the trick is to always back into parking spaces.

Welcome to NAM. A Gen1 Vert is a great car and it appears you have a very nice low mileage example.

There is a place where you can turn in the Dixie Cup & String phone system.
