Hello from Colorado!

Hello All,
Just joined the group because I'm looking to stage 2/3 my 08 mini real soon and wanted some advice. My mini already runs really strong (people tell me, i'm new to mini), so maybe she already has the ecu upgrade. is there a way to find this out? Also, i'm thinking of going with the madness upgrade, but their stage 2 package seems weak compared to what M7 offers for a stage 2 or 3 upgrade. I hear evolve does a good flash, and they offer the remote capability, so that's nice. Any advice for the newb?

Welcome

Don't get caught up in the "Stage" hype. You will be better off to put together your own package of multiple brands as this net the best bang for the buck and best fitting products.

As for the tune we can verify if an ECU is tuned or not by reading out the stock file as we always make a copy before performing a tune.

Thanks so much for the response I really appreciate your advice! Should I wait to upgrade the ECU until after I've done all the other mods? I want to change the intercooler, the exhaust, the intake, pipes, plugs, ignition coils, brakes, and possibly clutch/flywheel. I had never heard of your site before, but i'm checking it now and it looks awesome!

Welcome to NAM.

With your n14 engine, IMO the best thing you can do is change the oil every 5,000.
