Hello from Toronto Canada

Hello Everyone, My name is Mike, and I live in the GTA (greater Toronto area) in Ontario. I don't currently have a Mini but am doing some research into which to get. I've been looking between a new Cooper S or a used JCW
I've always wanted a Mini since before I could drive but couldn't afford one til now. My biggest decision will be whether to go with a auto or manual transmission.

I've driven both and automatics seem to take some of the pep out when accelerating. Maybe it's just me? Seems like there are fewer reported problems with the manuals too. IMHO, a manual is the way to go.

Agreed, Neka, in terms of the manual or auto. If it's possible to go with a JCW with some warranty left on it, I'd give it some real consideration. If you don't like working on cars, a new Cooper S with warranty would be the way to go.

Always buy the newest MINI you can afford, with warranty, if possible.

Hello, Go with the JCW, I have one. You will not regret it. I would also do the manual unless you dont like shifting or have other people in your family driving it that cannot drive a manual. Good luck and hope you can find what you want.

Manual all the way. If you do a lot of stop and go "city" driving, then the automatic might be better. All the advice above is excellent. Do your research... find a well maintained Mini or a new one. Factory Warranty is golden. Minis are one of the most fun driving cars you can own!

Stop the research! Get a manual car. If others can't drive it, teach them, it's a good life skill to know, lol.

Hi and welcome to NAM!
If you want the real rush, opt for the manual!
