Unkown Part

First time on this forum and I need help identifying this part.

I have a 2011 Mini Clubman S with the N18 engine
This is located under the air intake. It appears to join to hoses, one is going to the radiator and the other seems to go into the thermostat housing. It has been leaking for some time now, need to be replaced. Any insight would be very helpful.

That's the old coolant temp sensor. Since it's not plugged in the thermostat has likely been replaced and updated to the thermostat that has the sensor as part of it. Normally you should just replace that entire hose with the updated hose that doesn't have the sensor or that elbow in it.
Just shoot us a message if you want one.

Thanks for the info. So I need to replace the entire thermostat? Or just the hose?

Do you have a new thermostat? That sensor location is a very common place to leak. Since the new CTS is integrated onto the thermostat, that port/sensor is no longer useful and commonly leaks. You can remove the sensor and put some RTV around the existing O-ring to seal the area or replace it with the elbow that fully removes the sensor location. Is your Clubman an Auto or Manual? If I can snag the last 7 digits of your vin I can confirm this - Believe the replacement hose is HERE. The RTV method is great and works very well, also a much cheaper alternative to replacing the elbow if you have the updated thermostat with the CTS integrated into it.

NAM thread with info about it: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...nnet-part.html.

Glad I could help. That should be the correct one for you. If you decide to replace it make sure you get/have the updated thermostat first. If you need anything else let me know.
