First Post Tire and Wheel Pricing Question

Looking to purchase my first Mini. Trying to learn about the various Protection plans and appropriate pricing. The tire n wheel insurance seems pricey. Any idea of dealer cost on this? What's the right price to pay?

Also, is the new generation of Run Flats better than all the negatives I've heard about poor ride quality, tire noise, and frequent unrepairable flats?

Thanks from a new member.

welcome. no idea about pricing from dealers. Im a walking target when it comes to dealers =(
My 16 Clubman S has P7 run flats (18" wheels), the car rides amazingly well. the 13 hardtop S was the "17 Conti's.. never had any issues with those either...

Thanks. Hoping some people who were offered the tire n wheel will way in on what they were offered, and, if they purchased, what they paid.

Welcome. I do not take any of the extra stuff they sell so can't help you there plus these wheels and tires are relatively inexpensive so I will gamble.

I love my RF's. Been discussed on some other threads but the new RF's (Pirelli Cinturato) have been a pleasant suprise vs the RF's on our 12 MCS when we had it.

Good luck.

Helpful feedback. I'll go with the new Pirellis and hope for the same pleasant surprise. And unless the protection plan is dirt cheap, I'll pass on that since Pirelli offers one year road hazard anyway and my comprehensive insurance will cover a thrashed wheel.

I chuckled at the finance guy when he mentioned the plan. He said I guess you aren't going to buy anything from me?

Thanks Mini Mania. Hoping for delivery in late Sept or early Oct. IF, that is, we can make the right deal with our friendly local Mini dealer. Looking promising so far.
