Back in a MINI - 2014 BRG Cooper S Hardtop

I traded in my 2008 Subaru Impreza STi for 2014 BRG Hardtop 2-door. My STi was modified and doing around 350HP/380TQ (Crank). Very fun car, but I was tired of rowing through the 6spd and I could not pass up the deal they gave me.

The car is fairly well loaded, Nav, Moonroof, dynamic dampers, HUD, cold weather package. Wish it had the HK audio, but I have plans for fixing that.

So far the car is an absolute blast to drive. Not as fast or the raw power, but plenty quick. The auto shifts very fast. I remember getting some loaners with automatics back in the last generation and they were horrible. The additional power and whatever software changes they did made a real difference.

Handling is quick and responsive. The dynamic dampers can really be felt in sport mode. I think I need some summer tires and replace the hankooks. That would mean also finding winters.

One question I have is the car is a CPO and the Vehicle Check overdue is coming up on the display and every time I start the car I get the Service symbol. I called the dealer and they claim to have inspected it on the date noted on the display. They also would have had to do a CPO inspection. Seems odd this was not reset. Waiting to here back from my sales person, but I have read how to reset it and that seems easy. The inspection is also way overdue (22k vs 38k current). Thinks it is safe to just reset it?
