Hey guys! Just picked up an MT '09 R55 storm grey and silver.
Its my first turbo car and after owning a V8 (AT '78 camaro 350) and V6 (MT Audi A4 B5 2.8)
I'm amazed by the handling, power and MPG... and well basically everything about this car has impressed me!
I'm a private strength and conditioning coach and my goal is to have a fun "company car" so I can't have any issues with CELs being thrown or any unreliability. Only cosmetic mods atm, but I've done the radio pin swap (unreal!) and plastic dipped all chrome trim, rims, emblems and side scuttles.

My plans are to make it a "super stock" car of sorts:

AEM Cold Air Intake
Res Delete
Moroso Spiral Mufflers
Manic Mini Stage 1 Tune

I'm up for suggestions. I'm looking for noticeable power, a deep exhaust tone when I get on it or downshift with minimal drone at HWY speeds, and it'd be nice to get some more sound out of the turbo. Everything else is bang for my buck approach. Give me feedback!

Hello and congrats on the R55. Do you have any pics, looks like you have a good start. Looks like you have intake, exhaust and a tune covered. The Milltek muffler dont have the drone. With some exhaust you will get drone at certain rpm and highway speeds.

Welcome to NAM! Big fan of REMUS exhaust systems. High quality and very good sound with no drone. Should check them out. Lots of members have installed their exhausts on here with some great reviews. Also, one of the best bang for your buck mods for your MINI would be a rear sway bar. Let me know if you have any questions and need any help with your upgrades. Enjoy!

Welcome to the R55 club! For your first upgrade I'd suggest a torque arm insert from Powerflex or NM. It's a simple and cheap way it get better throttle response.

Also consider an intercooler upgrade before the CAI. The CAI won't give you much performance, mostly better sound from the turbo. I went with the NM intake and I'm not sure it was worth the cost.

I had an '11 and am now in a '14 R55. My first mod for both was a sway bar. I desperately need it for my driving style (and to stay out of ditches in the turns &#128513.
