Just got in a 07' MCS!!
Got a great deal on an 07' with 36k miles for under $10k!! Dealer serviced vehicle and in between services by owner. Great track record kept by owner of date and mileage of each oil change with Mobil1 0w-40.
Took it to the mini dealership to get a checked out and everything looked great! Bought my first mod already. A new Alta catback!!
Just my background. I traded in my beater 2001 c class that was on its last days. So this is a great commuter! My other car is an Infiniti because I work there. Before the infiniti I owned a 2013 WRX and trd supercharged Tacoma and a 350z. I got rid of all those once I got married and had a baby but Im just glad my wife approved of the mini!!
Ill post pics! Well beside the catback my real first mod was getting rid of the runflats and put new Michelin a/s3
My main question is, how do these cars respond to mods without a tune? Will I need to tune for every mod? My Subaru was very fickle and I had to get a tune to everything.

You don't have to get a tune for everything to work. Exhaust, intake, diverter valve, plugs, coils, just about everything you can slap on and be happy. No lights. Unless you do a catless DP, then a light will pop up. But with everything on it'll still run fine if not better.
That being said, once you have a tune it'll unlock a lot of potential! We're not talking about a power monster by any means, but you'll get a bit more grunt. It'll make it feel a bit better.
Also consider what this car is built for. Cornering. Suspension mods go a long way! Springs, Shocks, RSB, Control arms, Bushings, & Camber plates will all be your best friends. You need all of those things but they're all awesome upgrades.
If you take a look at the suspension section it'll show you a ton.
Congrats on your MINI! You'll love it. Once you start modding, you can't stop it.
