Found my MINI!!

New owner here! Well, sorta new - wife has an 07 justa R52 auto...

My MINI is a bone stock (except for the custom mahogany boat style roof racks) 2005 MCS named Louise. She's 10 years old but only has 15,xxx on the clock!

I'm looking for ideas for minor mods that will keep me in the autocross G stock category for now. I'm new to this and might go for more aggressive mods later on. Right now I need to get some snow shoes to deal with the blizzards here in Mass!

Crazy about NAM - fantastic resource!

Pretty sure that a pulley would bump me out of G stock.

Yes it would. There have been changes to the allowances for swaybars, however. I think you can now put a rear swaybar on on the car and still be in Stock. If you're really dedicated to winning at Autocross, there's a bunch of legal mods you can do, but they do compromise the street driving.

BTW, I've never seen wooden roof rails like that. Cool. They custom?

Yes, they are handmade mahogany racks by the previous owner (a professional woodworker). I like the way they look with the BRG. The downside is that they have to be revarnished every year or so.

The mahogany roof rails.... Right now they are in dire need of refinishing. I'll pop them off, sand, and spar varnish in the near future.

Mini S models are DS not GS....I just got my cooper s and am looking into DS legal mods. you can do one sway and end link, either front or back. you can also do shocks with no more than 2 external adjustments. you can now go +\- one wheel size as long as the diameter overall is the same. just Google 2015 scca solo rules and the book is available. the biggest downer is no more race tires in stock class which was renamed to street class...

changing the pulley or even removing the back seat drops you into SM. STX allows more mods and the pax isn't terrible. I find it interesting that the 06+ JCW is still in DS with the regular S models.
