Pleased to meet you all. I have been a long time fan of cars in general, and Minis, for a while. It all started when I was gifted a magazine subscription of "Car & Driver" while in high school, after those first magazines arrived I was hooked. Horsepower, torque, curb weight, optional interiors, the lists never ended and I couldn't learn quick enough. I didn't come from wealth, the newest car my parents owned, when I was growing up, was a 2 year old Toyota Pickup (Yes, the model was just Pickup; it also lacked a radio, clock, and A/C). This would be the vehicle I learned to drive on and how a motor vehicle worked in general.
Skip to the future and I have bought my long wanted dream car. Okay, so it isn't exactly as I dreamed it, but Coop makes me love him more everyday. Coop is a liquid yellow 2005 Mini Cooper S, my wife and I purchased him about 8 months ago now.
I had scanned NAM a lot for buying tips and mechanical issues before our purchase. I regularly visit the site, I have even made it a homepage sticky. Today though, I became a member and I am very happy for that. All of the replies and threads have made me very happy and I chose NAM for that reason.
