Long time fan, first time owner

Hi guys and gals. My wife wants to save gas, so we found her this 09 Mini Cooper S. I've been led to the site before, and it's been a big help in the last week. I'm a former Chevy, Honda, VW guy, and do most of my own wrenching. Going to let the dealer do some recalls next week and hoping the car stays with us a long time. 95k and we paid $9500. The tow hook cover is on the way.

Congratulations on the new ride. Hope the wife gives it up some time to let you drive it.

Thanks guys. She was afraid I was going to steal it away, but I've just been catching up on maintenance with it. Want this one to be trouble free as long as possible. ECS, you guys have been good to me with parts for this car and my GTI.

Congratulations! I have a 2010 Clubman S with 94,000 miles - have owned it from new. Other than the timing belt recall earlier this year and the throttle condensation issue this week, I have just had standard maintenance.

You are welcome.

Good going through and getting all the maintenance items checked and up to date is a must.

Want to update this thread. We've put almost 3k on the MINI in the past few months, it's been good. The recalls were done, but they were too lazy to attach the aux water pump with bolts. I fixed that, new front brakes, tune up, painted the tow hook cover, and repaired some deer damage. I'm getting more seat time in this car and it's a blast. Best car money spent to date!

A short update, the car is on to a new home. Loved it but the back seat doesn't work with 2 kids in car seats behind me. It was a dream of mine and Jill's to own a Mini, bucket list check. NAM is a great site, I hope to check in down the road...
