New guy on the street

Hi all. I just bought my first Mini on Tuesday and instantly fell in love with it. I had a broker find it for me, so didn't even test drive it until he trucked it to Lincoln from Kansas City. It's an '05 S blue with black stripes.

Thanks! I'll just have to do the picture thing when I get used to this site. I'm a bit computer challenged.

I quickly am reminded how slow people drive! I tried to take a country drive today. I think Sunday morning might be the better time. Friday afternoon brings old people out in big trucks or whatever...just slow...45 in 60mph limit seems to be the norm. I can barely see what 6th gear is for!

Squeeky brakes?

I just bought my new MIni '05 Cooper S on Tuesday. I love it. I got a squeeky brake sound coming off the freeway. It was there, and then it went away... What do I look for? It's an '05 with just 68K on it. I'm loving it and gave it a nice drive today. No complaints other than the squeeky brake just slightly on the off ram vering right off the freeway. What do I look at? It's a turn for my son later this afternoon. He's an Audi A-4 runner. Of course we'll watch the Huskers first. Michigan State is a nice team this year. I'll pray for a hail mary like last week!

I'll have to say my son's A-4 Audi was totalled by a stupid old man. Arrgh. Anyway, it's why I now have the '05 Mini S! Its all for good. Son Harlan was not hurt. old man either. The old man needs to learn how to drive. It's my theory that old people in Lincoln still think this is a small town. It's grown a ton from 30,000 people 30 years ago to 260,000 now. UNL is a nice growing university. Everything comes with that.
now I digress. Who are the genious technicians in the Lincoln area for Minis? I need to not drive to Omaha!

Squeaky brake... check the pad thickness first. Do a search in the 1st Gen section for more information.
