I am looking to purchase my first mini and I am starting the research (ie buying guides, differences between years etc via google).
I am replacing a 90ish miata with 257,000 miles.

I am pretty confident that I want an S version ( i want the extra zip and modability), other than that options are open, I am looking to spend about 15k, and I am a very confident wrench turner, with a full garage complete with air tools etc.

The two cars in my area at carmax that I may test drive are a 2008 S with high miles 90k and a 2007 with 63k miles.

Any links of ideas would be helpful, my commute for this car is about 130 miles a day total, mostly highway.
