Thermostat housing failure

I recently had the thermostat housing assembly on my 2008 Mini Cooper develop a leak. By the time the warning light went on it was too late. The car overheated. I pulled the head and have 2 bent valves. Looking for replacement parts now.
There are 15,000 thermostat housings on back order nationwide with no indication of delivery.
Anyone else having this problem?
Apparently Mini isn't responding to the problem.
