Hello from Germany and Arizona!
Hello All,
My name is Ross Kopp and i have been motoring for the past 4 years in 3 different Minis.
the first was in April of 2009, a pepper white with black top and mirrors Cooper. a plain run of the mill model with little extras. to this day i still have it and drive it daily.
the second Mini was "The Black". A 2010 JCW Cooper purchased in May with a bit of a tune on the motor giving me 250+ HP at the front wheels. this was my toy and was used every weekend on the Nurburgring in Germany up until October 15th when i was cut off by a Brit in a nissan micro, which sent me into the wall on a part of the track called Knallenhard (translation "Hit Hard"), how ironic. well i totaled "The Black" and broke my back in the process. for 6 months, i had an itch i could not scratch because i did not have a sporty car i could use on the track during weekends, so i decided to use the semi-slicks on my Cooper for the meantime. it tieded me over for a while, but was not the same.
in July of 2011, i purchased my third Cooper, "the little Green Monster" but only an S and not a works. during then and now, the car has been completely modified, except for the motor. i wanted to keep the same power to give me the longevity to participate in track days as well as drive home afterwards.
here are a list of the mods:
KW Club sport suspension
JCW Brembo brake kit
Forge intercooler
Forge BOV recirculator
Forge blue silicone tubing
BSH Oil can
M7 Cross member brace front
Recaro pole position seats
6 point Schroth seatbelts
4 point roll bar with monkey bar
Alta 3" exhaust
100 Cell CAT
Alta Rear Suspension links
Alta Rear sway bar and links
OZ Ultraleggiera 17x7 rims
Hankook RS-3 215x17 R45 tires
Custom racing Steering wheel
all three of the cars were purchased and driven in Germany up until Feb of this year when we moved to southern Arizona.
to this day, i keep up with track days using the green monster and enjoy every minute of it. hopefully i will get the chance to go back to germany and enjoy the Nordschleife once again.
in the meantime, here are some videos from past runs.
