Supercharger "Whoa's" 04' S Coupe M45
Hello all...after my wife had been asking for two years, I finally broke down and bought a used 04' Cooper S coupe. I have to admit that after holding off from buying the mini I now love to drive it even more than she does and had a blast driving from Phoenix to the mountains in Ruidoso, NM. Unfortunately, the supercharger's water pump gears have gone out and I'm looking at having it re-built. After looking on-line at all the options out there I found that autoxcooper.com will rebuild it with what they call a "custom" bearing cover that is supposed to keep the PTO bearing from walking and allowing the gear oil to drain out. They seem a little pricey (about $1300) for what they call a complete rebuild so I wanted to ask around and see what others might have to say about them or others they have had a good experience with. Any info would be greatly appreciated as my wife and I both want to get "Ol Earl" back on the road. (I've got the supercharger out and can tell that everything but the water pump gears seem to be fine.)
Thanks,
Brad
