The 60- to 90-Day Wait Challenge
The 60- to 90-Day Wait Challenge
I have an idea. Since I ordered my MINI last week, there are 60 to 90 days of potentially self-destructive anxiety and anticipation lying ahead of me. I could spend an unreasonable amount of time obsessing over the wait, looking at pictures, looking at accessories, counting the hours/days, etc. (Done, done, done, and done, by the way.) Or I could do something else.
From now until I take delivery (any hopefully beyond), I'm committing to improving myself by exercising five or six days a week. It will give me something else to do besides catching up on every thread at 4am, or adding up a bunch of accessories that may not even matter when I'm finally sitting in my car. Not that I look down on such behavior, it's just a sign that I have the time to spare, and can use it elsewhere.
I thought I'd post this with the intent of inviting others to join me. Your goal could be anything: finish a book or six, plan a trip, clean out the garage, write some music. Or, if you're like me, spend some quality time with my good friend Tony Horton.
It's now just past 5:30am (see what I mean?), so I guess it's time to get started. Who's with me?

Although I don't think you can ever be too informed, yes, reading about the car you're MINI can get a bit redundant. I took this opportunity to really clean the garage. I am an organized person but this area of the house needed a bit more attention. I power washed the floors, threw out anything that I haven't used in the last five years. I'll be adding more storage, or should I day, better storage. I'm looking at this as an opportunity to make the garage what I wanted, super clean and organized.
I should do all of the above as well, though I'm not sure how presentable I can make my current car, what with the paint seemingly chipping off in new places every day.
Had a good workout this morning, so I'm 1 for 1 at this point. Tomorrow is another day.

Had a dream last night that I picked up my MINI, and there were two others being delivered that looked exactly like it. I was a little disappointed, ha! Also, they had all of the cars on this crazy parking deck, and they had to fit in an elevator to get down to the ground floor. The door to the elevator was no more than four feet wide, but you guessed it, they fit just fine.
Woke up and decided I needed a bit of yoga to clear my head and keep those anxious thoughts at bay. I'm six days into my program, haven't done any reading or cleaned anything, but at least I'm keeping the OL-checking to a minimum.
