We placed our order on March 11. When should we get a production number? Our MA said we'll get a VIN on 3 April and it should go into production that week.

 

Could be that whoever you ordered your MINI through (AAFES?) had their quota filled for the month and had to wait till April to place the order. The day I ordered my MINI I had the production number and shortly thereafter the VIN.

 

Sign into http://ol.miniusa.com and track your MINI yourself. Maybe your MA is new to this

 

If the OP is in Bavaria - the OL won't be of any use...

 

We are a US Military family and our car is US Spec, so I should be able to use OL, right?

However, I don't see how I can use OL without a production number or VIN.

 

Sadly not for tracking. There are a few folks here who are US military purchasing US spec cars overseas and they all talk about how the OL can't find their cars because they aren't in MINIUSAs system. You should be able to register the car on the OL after purchase (I would assume) but honestly I'm not sure why you would want to...
