3m coat

Sure there is already a post on this but did not see, if so my bad. Anybody thinking of buying a mini or already has one on order when your salesman asks about the the protective 3m coating.... get it! I did not want another $500 dollar option that sounded like overkill, big mistake. Had new countryman for less then three months, most of which has been in a garage and a bird has already ruined the clear coat on the spoiler! Yes you heard that right bird crap on car for less then two days before I could wash and now have a silver dollar sized spot that the only way to fix is to have wet sanded and re cleared. Of course had I got the 3m, dealer would pay for, not their fault, all on me. Might seem small but it makes my skin crawl knowing its there. If anyone has a wonder fix for this I'm all ears but taking a rubbing compound to a new car does not thrill me. If I have posted this in wrong spot, sorry just thought the first spot for new members might save someone else.
