Please Help!
I have a 2005 Mini (not an S) with the yellow Service Engine Soon light on. I have been to four (4) O'Riley's to borrow their diagnostic tool and when I scroll on their machine to look for Mini, it is not listed. They say they have the most updated diagnostic computers but none of them have Mini for a choice.
Would it be listed under any other manufacture?

 

Try telling the scanner its a BMW. Should be the same codes. Otherwise just use the scanner in global obdII mode

 

Most obd2 scanners do not need to know a make model....
Genaric codes are fine for 90% of stuff...
Manufacturers specfic codes are pretty rare, and often what they mean is illdefined when you look it up...
3rd party databases of euro orgin often list the MINI as a bmw make....so as mentioned, it might be worth a try.
But just write down the codes, and then serchaway....several mini websites lists all the codes/error...not this one though.....

 

Thank you so much for your help! I did put the manufacture of BMW into the code reader and was able to pull a code P1470. It looks like a leaking hose.
