1st time MINI owner!

Hi All,

Just dropping a note to say hi to everyone. We took delivery of our first MINI back in April 2012. White Silver R57. I might be in love with it! So glad I found a great support group here. Thank you....

Quick question.. Read many posts about the stock radio in earlier year models.. I have to say in the 2012 models, it kicks! Tons of base and clear mids/highs. And especially with the top down on the highway. Did they upgrade/change anything in this year's models?

I'm sure the HK is much better and would have ordered it from scratch but this car was already on its way (only waited 2 weeks) and had to settle for a couple of things. It was a pleasant surprise. Please fee free to tell me I'm nuts. All fam here.

Thx

Hey Tyler,

IA with you about the radio. Love mine, though I'm not sure if it comes with BT installed it changes it? Didn't see anything about the HK radio on my docs. Sound really does kick.

I'm old. Hearing may be compromised due to coming of age in the 60's, but in my opinion, a high end, over-priced, profit boosting sterio upgrade in a convertible isn't money well spent. But don't worry, folks will be here soon claiming they can actually hear the difference at 70 mph with the top down.

You might want to check with dealer re:alpine kit that is available, it's in the accessory book for the coupe/roadster.
