No sound

I have a 2008 Mini Cooper. Was trying to install an XM radio. All was good
until the next day I started up and there was no sound...no audio at all
on FM,AUX or CD. The CD plays, I can change tracks but no audio. I brought
it to an audio shop..he tried to diagnose the problem, check the fuses, checked the fuse on the amp and all was good. I then brought it to a Mini dealer and they say the amp is no good, and would cost $800 to repair.

I purchased a used Harmon Becker amp on EBay. Put that in and still no sound. The guy at the audio shop stated he didn't see any power coming to the amp. I am afraid to bring it to the Mini dealer while he replaces the amp and maybe the head unit too. Can anyone give me some ideas??
