Is this something the dealership installs or is it an after market product?

 

My driving lamps are going to be the rate-limiting step...and waiting for the official $750 email that the MA says Mini needs when all the paperwork I submitted.

So we have pencilled in Wednesday afternoon for pick up but I'm thinking more likely next weekend.

 

Dealer installed.

 

I live in the desert, so flying rocks on the freeway can be a problem. My last 2008 MCs that I had for 4 years did have some chipping in the front bumper and hood, but nothing too bad. Based on price, I'll probably pass on the bra.

 

I think that the need for clear bras varies by region. Here in CO, the sand they put on roads in the winter time beats the hell out of the front of the car and tends to ding windshields as well.

 

For those new JCW owners. What's your first impressions?

 

Made this for my friend so dont mind the stupid comments. But it should sum up how I feel about it.


First impressions are amazing. This car has everything I needed and wanted. Took it through a parking garage last night just to hear the exhaust and blow off valve.

What did you order?

 

I don't think anyone has the vouchers yet, since you had to register to get one yesterday and they are supposed to be emailed to you "within the next few days" (direct quote by both my MA and the MINI rep who registered me). I interpret that as business days, so it the earliest anyone will have one of these would be tomorrow and IMHO more likely mid week.

 

There were events last Saturday too.

 

check out Babsmike comment earlier in the week. Looks like the voucher came about five days after the event.

 

JCW Hardtop Reef Blue w/White top & white bonnet stripes. I wanted the classic Mini look, but can't pass up the speed (currently I drive a 370Z). I hope the color is as nice in person as I've seen in pics and videos.

It's supposed to be at the dealer on the 17th, but the sale isn't until the 20th, and then I have to wait for the voucher which my MA said should take 24-48 hours.

 

The process timeline for the voucher is about as easy to figure out as when statuses update in the Mini Owners lounge. The Mini rep that registered me said I'd get the voucher via email I'm 24 hours and that has not happened. When I spoke to My MA about the ambiguity of the process he told me not to worry. If I don't have the voucher by the anticipated delivery date of my vehicle, which is expected to be on Tuesday, the dealer will honor the $750 discount and follow-up with Mini in getting paid. Most important is to register for the discount, which I did yesterday.

 

Some confusion and reluctance on part of the dealer to say for sure we would get the voucher. Based on what I see in the overall ordering process there is a lot of uncertainty...options changing, cost changing, changes on dates at the lounge, etc.

 

Thanks. From what I saw on the MINI website, the majority seemed to be have been this weekend. Only ones I could find listed for the prior Saturday (10/6) with a quick google search were a handful in CA and AZ.

 

BabsMike got there voucher 5 days via e-mail after the event. Think they are in the Southeast.
