"Those waiting for a 2013" Support Group
Ya I ordered a JCW, maybe cause I live in Canada it's different? Weird.
Can you see me? I'm jumping up and down like a crazy woman! We picked up Alfie yesterday late afternoon and I've been swooning ever since. What a ride. The response is tremendous, shifting is smooth, cornering is to die for (okay, almost on two wheels!) and the sound is awesome! We put on about 125 miles this morning and smiled the entire time. The only additions we've made to it are cocomats (yes, I coordinated with the JCWs red stitching); CF stubby antenna and a pro-clip mount for the cell phone. Can't wait to find some places to drive tomorrow. Here are a couple of shots from the Jersey shore!
Well, after 10 weeks wait, I finally took delivery of my JCW HT on Sunday. I had the dealer swap out my Michelin PSS Tires from the MCS with only a few thousand miles on them. I am liking the ride so far with the standard suspension and the non-RFs. I also added a stubby antennae once we got home. I could already hear a faint burble from the exhaust on the drive home ~80 miles from the dealer. So glad I made the switch to JCW. I'm hoping my old MCS gets a good new owner soon.
Dealer also ordered my LED foglights and hopefully will get that in about 2 weeks. We'll see..

Congrats! I really like the blacked out headlights and wheels. And if you like the sound now - just give it a few miles. I'm only at around 400 miles and the sound has already improved. It's such a deep, rich sound - music to my ears. Enjoy your new ride!
Thank you linak, Red, and batdevice! On my way home, I was already taking notice of some differences between the MCS and the JCW. There is a little more cabin noise from the exhaust, but it is music to your ears in a car like this. The exhaust sounds like it's purring right now as I only have 150 miles in. The Brembos are definitely a step up from the standard MCS brakes. I found myself stopping a bit earlier than usual on stop lights. lol
Also, shifting is smoother than on the MCS. I love it!
I also think that getting MINI Connected this time around was the right move for me. In the MCS, I never paid any attention to the center speedo. MINI Connected definitely feels more engaging due to the bright screen.
I have not gotten the car on ramps or jack stands yet, but I laid down on the garage floor to take a quick peak of the underside and it seems like there is more under body paneling on the JCW.
I'm looking forward to getting a better look when I get underneath for the break-in oil change.
Lastly, my MA also allowed me to switch out the carpets from the MCS which had white piping around it vs. the solid black carpets from the factory JCW. The carpets are basically like new as I am the only one in the car 99.9% of the time.

You are welcome , the white just pops on the interior against the black!
If you want to change the main interior filament bulbs to LED to give a little more light. This works separate from the color changing ambient built in LEDs. We have this kit and others. Would look great against the white and black.
R56 LED Interior Lighting Kit From 8/2010+ production. This Full LED Kit which includes: all overhead, foot well, puddles, trunk, and glove box Leds.

I was just curious if any of you guys remember how long the new car rubber burning smell lasted after taking delivery of your MINI? I don't remember this from when I bought my MCS from the dealer lot last time.

We had the hot metal/oil burning off smell for about two days only - and we put about 200 miles on in that time. Now it's just that faint new car smell - especially with the sunroof cracked.
Wonderful - just a few more days and it'll be off to the docks! Fabulous news.
Mini called me today and informed me that my JCW made it across the Atlantic and is now unloaded in Halifax! Now it will be loaded onto the train to make its way across Canada to Vancouver! Very excited. Should be around 2-3 weeks at most.
Great news! It sailed the pond very quickly. Your wait is almost over!
Been browsing this site for a week or so now and saw this thread. Waiting on my 2013 MCS to come back to Florida from Texas (was at the port here and was a day or so late from stopping it from even shipping out!)
I'm gonna be trading in my Hyundai Genesis Coupe for the fuel economy but more so the driving experience. My fiance's non-S puts a bigger smile on my face than my Hyundai so figured this was the right way to go.
Anyway, I'm just so excited and my shorter-than-most wait is already killing me.

Congratulations on getting your own MINI. We just picked ours up a couple of weeks ago and my husband is already talking about relegating his motorcycles to the shed (that thought would have been sacrilege a couple of years ago) and getting a MINI for himself. Can't wait for you to post pics of yours (and hers!). Happy motoring!
