Not really, just a run on sentence.

The Roadster we won on Wheel of Fortune has finally arrived!

7 months and 25 days after we won, we finally took delivery on Thursday. Our 2014 Roadster S traveled from Oxford England (born on July 2nd), to South Hampton (boarded the Toledo on July 9th), to Baltimore (July 18th) to Panama (July 25th) to Port Hueneme, CA (August 2nd), to Nick Alexander Mini in Los Angeles, where it sat for 3 weeks:( (August 5th), to my driveway in New Jersey (September 5th). Poor thing was covered in mud when it arrived, but was gleaming an hour later after some TLC.

Wow. Way too long of a wait. Glad you finally got it. Cannot believe the dealer sat on it for 3 weeks!

Looks sharp

O.K., that's crazy. Seems like since you live in New Jersey, they could have worked something out, but since you won the Roadster, why would they care? Sorry that took so long but you have it now and I'm sure enjoying every minute of it. Happy motoring and please don't forget to wave.

Made a slight change to my order and glad I got it done in time because I noticed there has been small change made in the mini configurator last night, and you can't click on cold weather package anymore if you got the city pack package. Plus, when I added the same options, it's $100 more now in total.

I know of at least one other person from the 2014 forum who is on the Toronto. I'm on the Tamesis headed to Baltimore myself. Moved over to the 2014 forum since the 2013s are basically done and we're shipping with mostly 2014s.

Just for grins, I have been keeping tabs on the Tiger, which delivered my car to Port Hueneme on July 10. It left Bremerhaven on June 19. Today it is back in the English Channel after visiting several stops in Asia and going through the Suez canal. It will dock in Bremerhaven on Sept 16. That is almost 3 months to go around the world delivering who knows what else.

The next trip through will be to deliver a boatload of Minis to Australia and work its way around the world in the opposite direction.

Well...I'm back and possibly the last on this 2013 build wait thread?

My MINI arrived yesterday! I've done 200 miles so far and will surely complete the run in before I get back to work in 3 weeks. So it's been 2 days short of 3 months...it's been a looong wait!

I've waived at 4 MINIs and am yet to receive a waive back...

Very Nice! I do love that blue. Sometimes regret not getting it, but we have had just to many blue cars. Keep up the wave! My kids don't stop trying. We don't get many waves back but the few we do make their day.

Excellent! Enjoy! The patience issue now is to keep it under 4,500rpm and do no full throttle for 1,200 miles.

Mine is currently in production after a 2-week delay from my week 36 schedule and no telling how long the boat ride will be to Ca after it's completed. Still excited though and happy for you! And I believe there's still a few others waiting for their 2013 JCW HT also.

Yes, that is more difficult said than done! Just thinking about stepping on the gas and the naughty stick (rev counter) speeds past 4 on the dial...just caught a couple of times right before 4500rpm.

The OL says it is still at the VDC...

Having this forum to vent on has certainly helped pass the time, thanks to everyone!

Thank you! My MA said the colours outside mashed with the chili red interior make it look 'fierce' was the word she used haha.

Funny story about the roof graphic...they come in two colours - a white letter 'H' or a black one. The white is for a black roof, black goes on a white roof...So the wrong one was ordered (a black "H", incorrect for my black roof)...and the installers put it on anyway. So a black H on a black roof...it doesn't really stand out. Anyway, the right one should be in in about a week and they'll fix it. With our first MINI in 07, they did the same thing...but did not install it! haha.

The MA DID organize tint for me, and she DID get the chrome bonnet scoop (which are in scarce supply right now), so no big drama on the helipad. Besides, gives me an excuse to run the miles up closer to that magic 1200 run in period!

Mike

Glad I wasn't the only one waiting...misery loves company?

Yours has to go through the Panama Canal, right? From memory it's only an 8 hour ride once you hit the first lock. I went through on a cruise ship once, the novelty of the canal wears off well into the first 20 minutes!

Don't fret too much, your big day will come soon. Hopefully not a 3 month wait like mine...good luck!

And at the rear of the pack here comes Alfie!

And good company it is. I'll be waiting for my JCW HT for a while also. Ordered on 9/13 and on the OL it still shows "on order" while the nice folks on ASK MINI at least told me that they seem to have located all the parts necessary for the build and now I'm in the queue for a setting a date for production. So, maybe . . . end of October?

By the way - has anyone looked at the configurator lately? While "rebuilding" mine yesterday (a girl's gotta dream, right?) they are showing slight differences including the bumpers from my original order. I'll be curious to see how my real build comes out.

I guess yours is a 2013 linak? I rebuilt mine (several times) over the last few weeks, and it was only when I downloaded the pdf of the build, that it showed it was a 2014 model. There is a thread somewhere about the differences, so maybe that's where you'll find your answer?

If you use my build time of 3 months as a baseline, maybe that will help ease the lonely MINI-less nights. And if you get it sooner, then that's a bonus, right?

Congratulations on the order!

Cool, that is when mine is scheduled to be completed. So looks like they will finish mine and then move on to yours.

Btw Brandonpt,

I am curious if the "pt" happens to stand for your profession?

Oops I think I should have posted here instead - just ordered a 2013 Base Cooper built to be fairly competitive-ish in HS. Probably 6-8wks from now though. I'm assuming this is or very nearly is the last production run of R56 hatches?

Nope, just my last names. Is yours dur for Brunswick, NC as well? If you are, I checked the schedule and we might be on a boat leaving the 8th and arriving the 21st.
Does the PT in your screen name stand for you profession?
