I've never called AskMINI, always bugged my MA. It's only been one month tomorrow since I placed my order and my car is already on a boat halfway across the Atlantic (supposed to dock next Monday)! I've never been able to log into OL and my MA has been great at responding to my inquiries and keeping me in the loop.

We've order ours on a Saturday June 29th (which I'm guessing didn't really got in the process until the Monday July 1st.

Our rep isn't as pro-active as he let us believed he would be.
I'm always the one contacting him first and I'm not even bugging him that much at all, once a week maybe...
The last time he said the car was waiting to be shipped. That was last Saturday, July 20th. So overall it has been pretty quick.
Now I get the feel the car might seat there a whole week before a boat picks it up... We'll see and we'll see if our mini rep (a young apprentice) informs us...

TG... you'll know more about your MINI during the shipping stage by following the links available on this site. Have you found them yet ? Let us know, we'll point you to them.

Thanks CR! I think I found the link earlier last week on the "stickied" post . . . What I don't have is the VIN number of the car so I guess I'll have to request that to my mini rep, right, as the information on the order sheet I have is probably not sufficient?

Yes. The shipping companies use your VIN to record the shipment. Your MA should have given you that long ago, like two days after you placed your order. If he/she tells you they don't have it, call ASKMINI and give them your production number, they'll be able to give you the VIN.

No I didn't get anything... I'll make a request.

He's new to the place so he has a lot to learn, obviously...

I already sent a long email to his manager after he asked us to review his team.
It was a good exchange. I'm a fair person so they were thankful I gave them all the feedback I did. I was a little frustrated after we ordered the car and were back home because I didn't feel we knew enough understanding of the options to cover everything we might have wanted or how the car was going to be outfitted. We missed on a few things but any way . . .

Thx for the help! I get the feel you are quite the helpful person here
I appreciate that

I'm very open so the way I saw it is that it wasn't in anybody's interest for me to get angry. We're going to be getting along for quite some time of service relationship. I want our experience to be a pleasant one. But it did get under my skin just a little

Did they give you that whole schpiel yet about how if you rate anyone less than perfect scores across the entire survey, they consider that a failure ?

Phhhhhhhht... you want perfect scores from my survey ? earn them.

Oh, you'll hear it. If not during the buying process re: your MA, then surely when you take it in for service.

First time I heard that, I just shook my head in disbelief. What's the point of the survey if you tell the customers to rate every question the highest score ? I wouldn't dream of doing that in my job. I want and expect completely honest feedback.

Okay, off my soapbox for tonight.

CR, have you already been bugged about this? I haven't heard one word, which IMO, is the right way to go about it: let me have my experience, unbiased, and I'll let you know how you did afterwards. Bugging me about it is only going to annoy me and not make me like you.

Not regarding my MA ratings yet. But it's not survey time yet either. I sure hear it from every SA that has every taken care of us. And every other MA who handled our MINI orders.

They gave me this whole schpiel about this... I told them I wasn't happy on how very little contact they had with me ..along with other things...Now my MA has called me 4 times this week asking how my MINI was and about how I need to give them a 10 on everything... or they fail!! I highly told them what areas they need to improve on... Im dealing with them now on some extras for my car..I told them im not filling it out yet!!

Good for you, Zippy. Maybe you can exchange some driving lights or another expensive accessory/mod for all 10's.

How many miles you have on your MINI now... break 500 yet ? You thoroughly enjoying your new toy ?

I think it's so cool a bunch of strangers are breaking in your car for you! That way, you can burble your brains out from Day 1.

They said they would make it right..so right now they told me they would give me the driving lights for $199 installed.. Im also going to see what they can do for me on the carbon fiber rear spoiler.. What do you think? I have 493 fun miles on my Crush.. I honestly can say the car is unreal to drive..seriously I like everything about it...the HK system I think rocks!! the whole car rocks!! But that is one big benefit about building your own MINI the way you want it!! I have had several people come up to me and say cool car..funny thing is even kids on there bikes yell cool MINI ha ha gota love those MINIs!

That's a great deal on the driving lights, they are normally about 4 times that much. Never been a fan of the carbon fiber exterior stuff... from a distance of more than a few feet, they just look gray. But your MINI, not mine.... I know a lot of people love the carbon fiber look.

Awesome ! Yeah, not sure what I'm looking more forward too... pop and burble or the HK stereo.

And yeah, one thing about MINIs, they attract attention !

Glad you're loving yours !!

I was very honest with them on why I wasn't happy.. I didn't come off harsh to them at all but I did let them know where the bear sh@%ts in the woods ha ha.. I do feel they are trying to make it right with me..lol.. oh yah btw CR your going to be more then pleased with your MINI..seriously.. Since ive got mine I must look at it in the garage a hand full of times before bed..ha ha always peeking in on it

Oh, I'm sure I'll do the same thing. I still remember doing that when we got our first pair of R50s back in 2006. And I'll be doing it again soon and will probably be a couple of months before I stop opening the door to the garage just to look at it.

Make sure to post some more pics in this thread of your MINI, especially after you get your driving lights and the spoiler (if you decide to get it) installed !

I understand! And that's why I didn't post pics of mine the day it arrived and I saw it at the dealership. Looked good but it wasn't "done".
