Have you heard from your MA regarding at what stage your car is right now?

 

Nope. He emailed me Monday saying it was close, but I knew that already. I knew more of the Tiger's location the whole trip than he did. Now it is in a black hole to me.

 

I can relate. When I called Ask Mini Customer Service yesterday, and found out that my Mini had already gone through the VDC QC inspection and had, in fact, already been on the road the previous night, I was elated. But really... I wish I had been informed of this by my MA sometime yesterday, while I was still at work and I could have scheduled vacation time with my supervisor.

It's quite alright ! Just seeing the word "burbles" makes me excited.

 

So, I've been M.I.A. for a little while... Hope there have been many deliveries, and progress for those still waiting for their MINIs to make it home!

As some of you may remember, my Bayswater made it to Halifax on Canada Day, and I learned that it had arrived at the dealership on the 11th!

I could've taken delivery next Tuesday. However, the last payment for my current MINI was made on July 3rd and covers until the 31st, and I already paid for the first month of my new contract. It made no sense financially to start my new contract 2 weeks early. Dealer said he had no means to reimburse me for the unused portion on my current contract. Hence, I'll wait patiently until the end of the month!

But guess who's gonna go stalk her new car later on today?!

 

Not sure how you can bee that patient, Lili ! I believe I would have eaten the financial loss and taken delivery on the new one but you have more control than I do, it appears.

Mine... waiting for the stripes and clear bra to be installed. MA says the installer might get it done Wednesday. If not, his next avail day is Friday. Either way, less than a week for me now.

Like you, I stalked my new MINI. Saw it this past Wedneday and he's raring to go!

 

Financial loss was too important to ignore for me.

Forget all this stuff he's saying about stripes, clear bra etc. Apparently the real problem is that the car was produced with a Chili Red body and White Silver trim, instead of the other way around.

Quick question, are the liners better to get than the rubber mats? Did any order them at build time?
I had the rubber mats in my r53 and now my better half is asking to pick some up (prestige and passport Mini have some good deals)

We are now less than 45mi from break-in and she is getting peppier, or my foot heavier, evidenced by my lower MPG this last fillup..haha

 

If you're that close, it's time to redline it!!

 

SERIOUSLY ! the break in mileage is not an exact science so I'd say you are ready to cook with the heat on it's highest setting !

As far as floor mats... I love the rubber mats. They look pretty good and hard to beat how well they wear and how easily they clean up.

 

SG,CR: thats how I feel about break-in too.. :D On the way back from church this morning my wife noted I was moving a little too fast haha, I reminded her we are getting the CM ready for after break-in... Not sure if that excuse worked completely, but my wife is just as excited haha.

Found a full set of new oem rubber mats for under $70 at passport, so I was thinking of grabbing those. i wanted the boot mat too, but it appears the measurements are still for 2011 builds, that didn't have the bench seats with flat load floors.

 

Ohhhhh yeahhhhh.... if I had a dollar for every time the passenger said, "slow down", I would have enough to have my wheels plated in gold. And that was before the JCW was even a serious thought. Geez, when are they going to make a one-seater MINI ?

I like the rubber boot mats too. Bet you can find one an somebody's website that will fit in your CM.

So you found out about the car the dealership threw into the deal for me ? They said for every four MINIs you buy from them, you got one of those Half MINIs. But that one actually has a seat and a half. You can fit a first grader in the rear seat.
