MCS Newbie
After a lot of research a few months ago I decided not to buy a Mini and went with a SUV since I already had a 2003 Z4 and felt I didn't need a 2nd "sports car". As the months passed I kept going back to the MCS's looking at those for sale and wondering if I had made the right decision in November 2011.
Many of my co-workers have them here in the Midwest with 60 mile round trip commutes and not one owner had a negative thing to say about their mini, in fact they all loved their Mini's.
Last week while looking online at a local favorite car dealer, he had 5 on his car lot. The next day I was test driving the 2009 MCS and the next morning, April 19 I was closing the deal and trading in my SUV. Since I also wanted to downsize to just 1 car, I sold my '03 Z4 with 104K miles on it.
I can't stop driving the MCS this weekend. I am dreaming up places to go and reasons to go for a ride. I have put 300 miles on it this weekend, read most of the manual and then found a thread here on the forum of 93 pages of "things you didn't know" about your mini ..... have already picked up some valuable information.
In a few short days and 300 miles of driving I LOVE THIS MCS!!

Welcome and congratulations from another new MCS owner. Yes it is very addictive. I have had mine for about 4 weeks and while I have gotten fantastic gas mileage compared to the Jeep I had before this I seem to be putting a lot of gas in to it for some reason? Could be all the driving I guess
That is a beautiful piece of equipment you have there. Congratulations and welcome to the club. Since I got my MINI I look forward to driving to work, lunch, and driving home. Any excuse for driving anywhere . . .. . . . MOTOR ON!
Even after your posts, I thought of a drive I use to test my Z4 on. Its a great "Formula One" type of highway, about a 100 mile loop. The MCS performed just as I expected. Very pleased with my purchase decision.
lisajt ... yes it is VERY addictive
rudomundo ... For the first time in a while, I look forward to work tomorrow just so I can drive the 12 mile high speed commute and 12 miles back in the afternoon.
It may not be correct but right now I see those fuel gauge lights go out one by one after 60 miles? Is that possible??

Welcome! I too recently acquired an MCS about 3 weeks ago and I've put about 3000 miles on it since, so I definitely understand how you feel. I hope you are thoroughly enjoying your MCS and keep on motoring.
