Hi everyone! Just got my new Mini a couple weeks ago, and loving it.

I was wondering if there was a way to ventilate the cabin through the a/c vents w/o having the fan on (I have manual climate control). It appears that when the system is off, the vents are blocked so that no fresh air is drawn in.

I've done some searching and found no posts on this. Is it perhaps something that can be coded?

Don't know, but I pretty much always have the vent on on those unfortunate days when I can not have the top down or the sunroof portion of it open.

 

I'm not sure if you are saying you want the "inside air out" or the "outside air in"?? With the Auto A/C you can circulate the interior, it is a much better system than the manual...sorry!!

 

Keith....the whole AC thing is a pain....it seems to be the same in most cars....I would like to be able to just let the outside air "bleed" through the vent but unless you switch the fan on it ain't gonna happen! Same problem with my Challenger.....fortunately for me I only have that problem if I can't open the sunroof...which happens almost everytime I drive if at all possible.......but I'm with you I wish car manufacturers would use a simpler system to open/close the vent to outside air....

 

Hey Minilla - thanks for the reply. Yeah, I like to crack my sunroof open, and it would be nice if outside air could be pulled through the cabin w/ the fan off. This is the first car I've owned where that wasn't possible... :-/
