New member being converted

Well I have always been a V8, owning a 1991 LX 5.0, 2003 Lightning, 2003 Mustang GT and a 2003 Cobra. I have finally retired from the Army and have been doing a lot of research on the Mini Cooper S. I drove a 2007 Mini Cooper S and loved it. I am now searching for one in Florida. A dealership in my area has a 2009 Clubman S with 74,000 miles but they want $20,000 for it which with that mileage seems high. Anybody find one for sell shoot me a PM.

I am really looking forward to getting one and to start modding it.

Thanks

That's a lot of miles for a 09. I would keep looking. I am in the panhandle, can't help much. There is a large club in the Jacksonville area, they may have some contacts near you.

Good luck with your search. You're gonna love the car!

Dealers ask the most insane prices for used MINIs. I suspect most don't get it. I'd definitely check around for private cars. Or, be sure to get a dealer car at the PROPER price. They are always shooting for the moon, for that sucker among us ;-0)

One dealer had a car i really liked a couple years ago. Price was stupid though. I left and sure enough they called me a number of times asking 'what would you pay'.

Never bought that one after all though.

PS, unless you really get a low price, don't even THINK about one with nearly that mileage.
Cars.com / Autotrader etc,, have plenty to choose from. Mileage in my opinion? is extremely important. I used to buy high mileage cars and it's not a terrible thing, but go try to sell one and you get killed. So you have to buy very low and of course have it thoroughly checked out. Worth every penny of it!

Thanks for the replies. I am going to check this one out. The mileage is 66,000.

I have looked on here but most of the nice ones I see are in California. I did see a nice one on here for sale in NC but it had already been sold.

Yep, I can't wait to get into one.

yetti96, I have no problem driving to the Gulf, I was born in St Pete and was stationed at MacDill AFB.

Hey Wolfhound if you don't mind the drive. Check out www.miniofpensacola.com. John "Mungo" has a few great previously owned and has the uncanny ability to find what you are looking for. Maybe worth checking out.

Don't make the mistake I did, make xenons a priority or plan of a retrofit. IMO the halogens suck on these cars and are not an acceptable form of light.

And do not be afraid to go and get the right car. I live in Maine and flew to Miami and drove my car back. After looking for months it was the right color, with the right options, taken care of the right way for the right price. It was the best example I could find. These cars are so much fun the "get to know you drive" was a blast. For me, all 1600 miles of it.

+1. Also, if it is in the MINI dealer network, most of them will transfer a car you want from one MINI dealer to one near you to get you what you want. So don't be afraid to look across the country for the MINI you want!

Found this one online this morning but it was already sold, so the search continues.

Absolutely on those Xenons... additional driving lights look great, but imo, superfluous.
