My Introduction, 03 MCS new owner!

I wanted to stop in and introduce myself to NAM. My name is Garry, and I just purchased a 2003 Mini Cooper S (6speed) for my wife. Have been around turbocharged cars my whole life, mainly Turbo dodges. I used to work for Chrysler back in the late 90's -until 2007 - and helped author an SAE paper on how to turbocharge the 2.4L Chrysler engine. Worked for the 2.4L turbo group (main focus was turbochargers, intake manifolds, brackets, etc) and had my first experience with the 1.6L supercharged engine while at Chrysler and drove one of the first Cooper S cars at the Chrysler Tech Center. If memory serves me right, we had a 1.6L Supercharged engine on a stand inside our suite at the Tech Center.

Mainly here to learn as much as I can about this new car (we'll not new), what issues that might come up, possible mods. Trust me my wife has already warned me we not doing any mods, that might last for only a few months (already looking into exhaust systems and air filter items). I can't leave anything stock ask my wife! This car was bought for her, but after spending the day driving it around yesterday she might not get too much seat time!

Well enough about me, glad to be here and thanks!

-Garry
