New B Here
Hey all! New to the forum and new to the Mini scene all together. I am 37 and have just as many cars as years as my ADHD kicks in and sends me shopping for the next best thing. I've always loved the Mini style and have heard some great things and unfortunately a fe not so great things like the expensive clutch fix.
Long story short, I am considering a 2008 S from a local dealership. The nice thing is the vehicle has 49,000 miles and according to the salesman, the S has a full bumper to bumper warranty 'till 55,000 miles, I am also looking at other 2002 and 2005 models.
My goal is to actually make this a car that I would eventually have as a weekender once finances settle out so she would remain in the family far longer than my previous whips! LoL Any suggestions/help/guidance would be much appreciated here. Glad to be onboard and part of the community!

The warranty is 4 years / 50k as grips03 said. With that said you should get the dealer to add on a nice warranty if you purchase the 08 especially if it is a CPO. Best of luck hunting down your perfect MINI, it gives you a great reason to test drive a few and really enjoy it! I scared the sales guy when I took it for a first drive, was sold on a MINI at that point!
Thanks for the replies guys! I actually looked at a 2008 non s tonight with 36,400 miles in mint condition. Really nice car! I didn't drive it though bc i have trade in issues so im trying to figure out my finances. LOL also ive heen dead set on a manual and this one is an automatic. However, i didnt realize it had paddle ahifters. That's groovy!!

Looks like i will be going in for a test drive today! I'm not sure of options other than the obvious leather and power roof. Can i tell by looking at a pic if it has harmon kardon sound?
My Harmon Kardon has speakers labeled as such on the front pillars at windshield. I think they are all set up that way but not sure since mine is a 2010.
I really think you owe it to yourself to test drive a manual justa and a manual S before you buy any mini. I've owned my manual 6 speed for 3 months and can't believe how much fun it is to own and drive. Just saying---do yourself a BIG favor!!
So tell me what you think an amazing price would be?
2008 MINI Non S
36,000 miles
Auto Tiptronic
Leather
Heated Seats
Power Roof
Since funds are a little tight I need to get a great deal on this car so I will be able to sell it and not get hammered next year when I go to buy a loaded s once my money tree blooms.

KBB puts what you posted around 18ish but really, if you want a loaded S then you could probably find one in your price range. I paid marginally less for an 07 MCS with 20k miles.

Definitely a reasonable deal, though its really all up to you if you want to take a hit to buy this MINI or get an older MINI (or more miles) that fits more of what you want. Certainly you'll enjoy either option however!
at this point its really about what the bank will buy. I have owned my own business for a long time so credit was never good, always cash, but now I am on the books trying to establish credit since business isn't good so the banks are having their way with me. uuugggggggggg :(
I think as long as they don't bury me on the deal, I will be happy with just having a MINI!

Well best of luck with getting a MINI regardless of which one works out for you this time! I would definitely have to agree that a MINI is better than NO MINI! Post pictures of your MINI once its yours!
Well guys I don't the deal and she now sits nicely in my driveway! I scided on the auto even though I prefer a manual bc of how clean the car is and the deal I got. Also, I badly tore ligaments in my left ankle this past September which would make shifting very painful. Pics coming soon........... Let the mods begin !!!!!!
