New NAM member!!! Hello!!!

Hey all,

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I am a resident of Newport Beach, and I have had my Manual 2003 Mini Cooper S for a few months now. I cannot get enough of it!!! The two Performance upgrades I have is the Alta Performance Cold Air Intake System and Ignition and Pulley Performance Package. Adds a bit of a kick, and I cannot wait to test it out on the track.

Anyways, just wanted to give a quick intro and shout to all the other members.

Cheers,

Geoff Parrish

Hey guys,

Just a quick question. When I pull away in first gear, just before 10 mph, my car makes a 'ding'. We joke around and say, "Congratulations, you are now moving." I was just wondering what it is, and it is normal? Is there a way I can turn it off?

Thanks guys. I will get some pics up later today.

That is probably the doors locking...at least that is what our '04 does at 10 mph.

No that is not it, because it makes the 'ding' every single time I pull away in first gear. It is quite the mystery.

Hey Pals and Gals!

Hey all, I drive an 03 Cooper with 92,000 miles on it. Its flywheel has been slipping for a while and I am preparing to do the job myself. Between the photos on this site and the Bently manual, I know I can do it!
