Patience is a virtue, I suppose

We are waiting, as patiently as possible, for our Chili Red/Silver Top Coupe. It currently "awaits transport" and so do we. Meantime, I have enjoyed hanging out here. I'm glad we ordered early, as the coupes in-stock at the dealer seem to be carrying a markup above list that we didn't have to pay.

Anyhow, back to being virtuous

Huck

Congratulations on your purchase and good luck with your wait. I can't wait to see a coupe on the streets!

Me neither, especially if I'm driving it!

@Houck,
The waiting is indeed the hardest part and great patience is needed at this time.
My black/silver coupe is waiting in Southampton with you. The next boat to California (Asian Vision) departs on October 11 and hopefully my coupe gets on that one. Otherwise, the next ship is not for another two weeks :-(

I'm hoping my MCS is on the Asian Vision too. I'd be real lucky if it did get on though. It only finished production on Thursday (10/6) so it would have to get from Oxford to Southampton and on the ship in just a few days. I'm thinking I'm probably looking at the Undine which sails on 10/26, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. So far everything has been ahead of schedule so maybe I'll luck out this time too. Where are you in SoCal? I live in the Inland Valley, bought the car from Ontario MINI.

Bon Voyage

Well, we are on the East Coast, which has few advantages, except that it is closer to the Sceptered Isle where Minis are made. I tracked our Coupe and it is, indeed, on the Carmen, bound from Southampton, at sea as we post, due to arrive in Baltimore on Oct 13th. Maybe someone knows how long it will take to reach our Dealer in Alexandria, VA, cause I don't Anyhow, maybe a week from next Weds., our wait will be over. Just about seven weeks from when we ordered. Can't believe we can track the ship. I guess we will soon be able to converse with our car by text message as it sits in its container.

You should pop over to the R58 Coupe forums on NAM, Huck and say 'Hi'

We have 3 confirmed Coupe owners so far who took delivery next week and another batch this week including myself

I just looked at the WW website and the ship after the Asian Vision takes 36 DAYS to get from Southampton to Port Hueneme as compared to 22 days for the Asian Vision. It stops in every port possible (and some that don't even makes sense like Columbia). I sure hope I make the Asian Vision!!! In fact, the ship leaving 4 days after the 36 day "slow boat to CA" gets in to Port Hueneme 11 DAYS BEFORE the slow boat. My car might rust out from the salt air in all that time! LOL

@chaswyck: Too Funny.
I found out this morning on the WWL site that I am booked on the Asian Vision arriving Port Hueneme Nov. 2. Maybe our mini's will be traveling together!

You'd probably get on one that goes straight to Port Hueneme.

Most MINIs travel on boats that go straight there as opposed to taking stops prior.

Huck --

My MCS HT arrived on the Carmen also, and is also coming to the dealer in Alexandria, VA. I know that my car was unloaded this morning; MA says we are tracking for delivery early next week. Our two Minis may make the ride down from Baltimore together!

Any day now

Hi PSM55,

Yes, that's what we are hearing also. It looks like we take delivery sometime Mon, Tues, or Weds. I hope the good weather holds up a little longer.

Good luck with your MCS HT!

My red 2012 Mini S hardtop is on the Asian Vision. It is supposed to go through the Panama canal tonight but I don't see the boat as being spotted yet on the Marine Traffic website. Has anyone seen when she is supposed to go through the canal. I am getting very nervous that I will miss it.

My coupe is on the Asian vision as well. The info I see from Boyd shipping is that the ship arrives tomorrow at 8:00 am pacific time and transiting on the 24th. I too am hoping to get a few pics from the web cam.

I found the Boyd Shipping site. Is it Pacific time listed or Panamanian time?

The Asian Vision is on the move again. She was at the dock for awhile and then moored and now is moving. Hopefully she is going to the canal tonight.

I checked for my countryman's update today on the owner's lounge and it finally moved from awaiting transport to en route so for everyone awaiting transport, its coming. It took like 5 days then it changed to en route.
I can't seem to track my MINI which is frustrating. I have the Vin # but still nothing. Any tips?

Hi,

If you have the bill of laden you can track it and find the boat. After you put in the bill, then look for your VIN. It is in order of the last digit probably. Click on it and it will tell you the boat and the voyage info. This thread has the shipping site about halfway down the message. The site seems to be down right now.

Then look at http://marinetraffic.com/ais/ to see the location (when it is out to sea, you can't see anything for awhile until it gets closer to land). Put in the boats name. It will say it is out of range if it isn't track able since it is out to sea.

If it is going through the canal, then look at the site http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html when it gets close for the camera.

Hope this helps.

Kathy
