Hello, everyone!

Hello,
My name is Ben, and I'm a new Mini Cooper owner. I'm on a tight budget, but I finally managed to pick up my own Mini! It's a 2002 MCS in pristine condition. I'd been looking awhile, but when I found it, I fell in love immediately. My nieces and I named it Brisby.

Anyway, a little about myself - I'm an artist, an otaku, a gadget freak, a gamer, an avid reader (love my Nook), and I can play a mean game of tennis. Mini Coopers have been a part of my family for years now, and I'm proud to finally have one of my own.

I'd share photos here, but, for some reason, can't get the uploaded images to show up in My Gallery. I'll try again later. For now however, sleep.

Also, why is my signature not here? Guess I'll try putting it in manually for now...

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the Mini (and the Nook -- I have a 2nd Gen Nook and it goes everywhere with me).

Thanks! I have the 2nd gen Nook too, and yes, it never leaves my side!

lol, Someone edited out "押忍!" from my thread title. It's just a slang word that translates roughly to, "Hey!"

Anyway, I worked out the problems I was having with the Gallery, so here are some pictures. Brisby is obviously the electric blue (and miniest of the three), the pepper white is my mother's '09 S, and the royal grey is my father's week old 2012 Countryman S.

Okay, so apparently there's some kanji-phobia going on here. Guess I won't post anything with Japanese/Chinese characters if I want it to be not deleted.

Anyway, I have some pictures in my gallery now. Brisby is the electric blue (and miniest of the three), the pepper white is my mother's '09 R56, and the royal grey is my father's new 2012 Countryman S.

Thanks for the friendly welcome!

Nice! Congrats and welcome! Electric blue is a nice color. I like the s-lites also but I really like how the EB looks with white wheels. Make sure you join the Official Electric Blue Owners Club:

Grats, Hillis! The Electric Blue turns heads!

Good idea, ACEkraut11, thanks! I'm going out to the shore (Lake Michigan) tomorrow, and I'll get some better pictures for that thread. I like the white wheels too. Mine came with the lighter shade of grey, but I'll be picking up the white rims and indicators soon.

Brisby--no kanji phoba here! My best friend is currently majoring in Japanese at college, and I, too, have been to my share of anime conventions! Are you going to put anything Japan-related on your Mini?

Osu, SnappleLlama! Yes, I really want to add some Nippon related flare to the car! I have a custom badge (I put it in my sig) with "subayai" on it, the P! badge is for The Pillows, and I threw together a transmutation circle badge with the MINI logo at the center, but I'd love to get something like side stripes with kanji. I haven't decided exactly what yet. Also, I have only one badge holder on the grill atm, so I need to pick up a few more to support my new motoring badge addiction, heh.

Welcome Brisby!
I just ordered my 2012 Cooper S Countryman and waiting for it to get here. How does your father like his so far?

He loves it! In fact, any excuse at all to drive somewhere and he's all over it. I'm really impressed with how it handles and maintains the Mini Cooper styling, while having a larger frame. The huge rear MINI badge that doubles as the hatchback's handle is also awesome, heh.
