Almost ready to order...

Hi all, first post. My wife surprised me by expressing a previously hidden interest in buying a Mini, so who am I to discourage her...
She's really high on Spice Orange, and any color is fine with me...
My plan:

MCS
Cold Weather Package
Sport Package
Sport Suspension
Harmon Kardon

Considering appearance items:
Black headlight housings
Anthracite headliner

Any obvious faults? If i could leave something off and do substaintially better in aftermarket i would, but so far all I've really decided is that you probably do better with mats from WeatherTech than from the dealer.

The headliner is kind of iffy...I'm not sure if it's $250 well spent. I do feel ok about the $100 housings for the Xenon's though.

Any observations would be much appreciated...I probably hav 48 hours to mull it over before finalizing the order.

Thanks,
Steve

Hurry and get that order in. My wife and I are on MINIs 3 & 4. I think you will really like the Spice Orange - we do!

Nice Build

Go for it

The black headliner looks classy and goes well with the other dark parts on my MCS. Also, it does not show stains. To me, it's worth the money; I have ordered it on all three MINIs. The black lamp housings give the same aura. I would have ordered them for our Clubman if they had been available.

Possible addition: Rear Fog Lamps. They make the car hard to miss in rain, snow, fog....

The Cooper S rubber floor mats are substantially better than the MINI rubber floor mats. The WeatherTech mats are good, too, for keeping water/snow off the floor, but are pretty stiff.

I have never realized that there is a difference between the MINI rubber floor mats and Cooper S rubber floor mats. I really need to get a set of them before winter comes, but I am curious now. What is the difference between the two, beside the logo?

Anthracite headliner looks so nice, as well as the black headlight housing (see my gallery for the lights). The only thing I REALLY wish I got in my car beside a sunroof and heated seats is MINI Connected. With or without nav, it makes handling all of the technology options, controls and settings so much easier. How many other cars have an app for them? MINIs do.

When I placed the MINI mats in our 2009 Clubman they felt thinner than the Cooper S mats in our 2007 MCS. The 2007 is gone, so I can't compare now. However, I just went out and compared the 2009 MINI mats and the 2011 Cooper S mats. They are pretty similar, so maybe the logo is the only difference now.

If you are buying them at one of the Chicago dealerships, it would be worth a comparison before you plunk down the money.
