Rallycat, that is great news. Mini has no idea when they are going to build ours. Called Ask mini last night to try to get a status. It's in the system but they do not know what the delay is.

Still "On Order"

Hello Everyone:

I am new to the site but saw your order dates in this thread and thought I would jump on and commiserate. I ordered my Eclipse Gray Mini S on July 18 and got a production number the same day. I am still "On Order" in the OL and "No Scheduled Production Date" in ASK MINI. My MA said yesterday it will be built in 2 weeks. Seems like everyone else is getting much faster builds! I do appreciate all the tips from the posts here. It has made me a much better informed (if more impatient) future MINI owner.

None of my friends own a car that has a manual transmission. I'll have to rent a car with a stick and practice a few times.

That's hilarious I said the same thing to mine, no WAY are you driving MY mini off the lot...haha! I have looked for rentals but have not found any yet :( I too drove a tiny bit years and and am excited to drive stick again. Very nice f your MA!

Not a big deal for me as my current lease does not expire until Christmas time.

Well the good news is she is built and is on her way to the shipyard The bad news (sort of) is my husband had to beat me to it, and just bought an MCS off the lot, so he gets his first, lol

if you think you have it bad...

ordered a '12 MCS in highclass grey on 7/22. after waiting and waiting, i found out it is scheduled for completion on monday.

here's the problem: the only time i saw the color was in mini brochure and i thought it looked nice

as pictures of the color actually began showing up at other dealers and i finally saw it at my dealer, all i could think was "it's nice, but it looks kinda purple, more purple than i'd like"

i sat on it for a week. this morning i came to the conclusion that if i'm not sold on it now, i shouldn't drop $35k on it and asked my MA to change the color to midnight black.

so i get to start the waiting game all over again. 6-8 weeks. FML.

chRallycat,

That wasn't nice of him. He should have waited until you got yours delivered or taken delivery of it on the same day. This is so wrong!!!!

I know, right?! Lol, no worries- this way I get to learn all about the car so by the time I get mine I am good to go

It's definitely a change from the STi, but he's quite happy with it :D

A big change from the STi!!!! I am making a change from two consecutive Saturns, to a CM. It's now awaiting transport. So it will be on the next ship sailing over the pond. Just hope that this trip is uneventful. and that we take delivery by mid September. Saturn had a misshap Thursday night Our oak tree decided to lose a limb and it fell on the roof, causing some damage. Oh well. Mayhem has hit.

Have a great day.

Rallycat,

sorry to disappoint but the Elektra left on the 24th, You will probably be on the Otello leaving on the 31st. The next time that the Elektra leaves Bremerhaven is September 28th.

Ah, but our Minis are not in Bremerhaven, they are in Southampton, UK, from whence the Elektra departs for NYC on the 29th! Come on, little Mini, come on. ( /me beckons lovingly)

Good thing you changed the color and feel good about it. Mine's built and on a boat over here and I'm second guessing my color choice and the decision not to get the sunroof and anthracite liner... FARK ME!!!

I'll probably do the same thing about not choosing leather. But I still have time to think about it.

My 2012 JCW hatch is now supposed to be in an October build slot - moved from November. I guess MINI are thinking they will have the JCW Aero kit install at the factory ready early.

CausticOne--Sorry you're having second thoughts, but glad to know I'm not alone... I'm just afraid I won't like the whole CAR as much as I want to. (I did go for the sun roof AND the anthracite headliner. )

But then I picture myself out there on the road, with the music cranked, and I know I'm going to LOVE IT! And you will, too. It's the waiting that's tough. Hang in there.

T'was either buy a new turbo for the STi or trade it in and jump on a nice leftover 2011 R56 while she still ran.

Under those circumstances I would have done the same thing. If rallycat had only stated that, my comment would not have been made. Make sure you show Rallycat how to operate some of those controls. enjoy!!!!!!! It's less than three weeks until ours is delivered Will probably see you around. Just be on the lookout for a Light coffee CM.

RallyCat, and everyone else whose Mini is coming in on the Elektra--She's in Halifax, and due in NYC within 48 hours. (5am on Thursday, the 8th) RallyCat, you're looking good for that October rally date! If we're all lucky, we could have our Minis in a week or two!

Grrr...so, I was all excited seeing that my MINI arrived at the VDC the other day, and that my estimated delivery date was this coming Friday- then I received a call from my sales guy, and found out that the MINI has not yet been booked on a truck out of the VDC, and that once it is, it can take up to 72 hours for it to arrive at the dealer, then at least another 24 hours until I can pick her up. Looks like I will not have her for this weekend after all :-(

On the bright side, I have my badges (including my awesome custom badge from GoBadges) all ready to go when she does finally arrive :-D

Oh, RallyCat, I KNOW! The wait seems harder the closer we get. Yesterday morning my sales rep. told me the truck left Tues. night. Yesterday afternoon, my MA said the truck wouldn't arrive til THIS afternoon. It's a 5 hour trip! Where are our cars?! Stay tuned...

Rallycat,

It might be a 5 hour trip but if all of the vehicles were not for your dealer, he might have stopped at another MINI dealer to unload those cars and it could take a couple of hours. Also, drivers are allowed to drive only so many hours in a day. Coulk have had to stay at a rest area or on the PA or NJ turnpike(s).

That is one of the advantages of taking a MINI off of the dealer's lot. Not having to wait. The anticipation is killing me. My ship comes in tomorrow at 5 AM, I just hope that it gets here soon. Just want it before the end of Septembe (maybe???)

OK. I have got it bad! It is almost 5 a.m. in California and I'm online watching the Virgo Leader pull into Port Huemene. My Mini is finally here! I'm so happy! It's been a long three months! Whooo! Hooo!
