2011 to 2012 MCS changes?

Hi All,
New owner to be... My Wife and I ordered a 2011 MCS, but the model year rolled over in the mean time, and before the dealer discussed the changes with us, I just heard that my 2012 Mini is on the ship to Halifax...

The problem is that I was watching the Mini Canada web site closely, and noted that Traction Control is a new option on the MCS - not offered as an option on the 2011, and I also note that bi-Xenon headlights also no longer seem to be available on the Canadian 2012 MCS.

Can anyone confirm these changes, and if there are any others that I might not know of/have noted?

Thank you all!
Eric.

PS: All that being said, I still long to get behind the wheel of an MCS again! The test drive just wasn't enough...

Canadian MCS have had bi-xenon headlights for some time. Part of the reason why we pay more than the US base model. You MCS should arrive with xenon along with the directional control of the lights (left/right).

Canadian MCS come with ABS, Brake Assist, Corner Brake Control (CBC) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). Only the JCW comes with the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) with Electronic Differential Locking Control (EDLC) - i.e. electronic limited slip differential. You cannot order a MCS with the DTC/EDLC option in Canada (at least according to the ordering guide :-) )

2012 Canadian Coopers cannot get PDC or alarm.

If you ordered the Comfort Package (sunroof, heated seats), you will get a bonus of dimming interior mirror and MediaConnect (USB for iPhone).

PS: Some dealerships don't seem to have a clue about the 2012 changes. Which dealership did you purchase from?

Thank You Walk0080,

I spoke to my MA today, and he has assured me that the Bi-Xenon head lamps have been added to my order, and that while the latest iteration of Traction Control will not be installed, the car does have an older version of TC as standard equipment.
My worry was that there would be no TC at all - assuaged!

He also assured me that the price would remain as agreed despite the "added" features - he repeated to me that he has no intention of not delivering what was promised, and he will keep it on price.

I have been dealing with Mini Markham/Town and Country BMW - the one on Kennedy, North of 7. The MA has been very polite and helpful - so far a very good experience. The only complaint I have, is that given I work for an airline, I could have gone to the Oxford plant while my car was being built (if it happened to fall on my days off), but I never got the chance; I found out the car was on the boat to Halifax yesterday!! Built long ago...

There are bigger things to worry about though - his decision not to tell me (looking on the brighter side), probably saved me a pile of money.

Regards,
Eric
