first time mini buyer - any advice???

Hi everyone! This is my very first post!

I'm new to the MINI craze (and by new, I mean I've finally decided to purchase one instead of just turn green with envy everytime one drives by). I need a car in the next month or so, but could probably hold out until early September.

I'm interested in the Mini Cooper S convertible, but have been finding that dealerships are limited in convertible inventory for the 2011s. I love the hardtops too. Any idea when 2012s will be released? The MA I spoke with yesterday told me he wasn't sure.

Seems like I have 3 options:
1. Find a 2011 in inventory somewhere
2. Hold out for the 2012s to hit the lots, then buy
3. Order a 2012 (how long does it normally take to fulfill an order?)

When new models come out, does mini tend to give incentives for the current year to get it off the lot?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

-Marie

You will generally get a better deal with a car on the lot. I got my 2011 in April for $2700 off of MSRP.

The best deals on 2011 convertibles will be this fall/winter after the 2012's hit the lot. If you can wait that long then you can get some great deals on in stock cars
