Supposedly my delay was due to MINI connected w/NAV and having an auto transmission. The annoying part was I upgraded from MINI connected no nav, because they said that was causing a delay. But I'm happy I got the nav now, it's pretty sweet.

Hopefully that VDC video you saw was isolated cases.

Yes, I hope so! Glad you like the nav now. I'm looking forward to mine.

I'm having a blast watching my ship as it is just about to go through the Panama Canal!

Well, you are getting close, that is very good news!

And just an update to the fun stuff...

Xenons, lovem and even bigger plus is that the high beams are xenon too. One mod though, paint your turn signal bulbs grey, it looks very sharp.

HK, very good also, wife loves cranking up the toons. The sat radio is also a plus.

Center rail, we opted for the split, and our kiddo likes it for the extra room in the back, and walking between the seats. Still the full rail would have been nice to store extra stuff.

Not a peep. Thanks for thinking of me, Justmenmymini. It is not within range of any ship tracker. It is still due in at Port Hueneme this Friday. My wishful thinking~the VDC will release it on Saturday morning, it will arrive at the dealer on Saturday afternoon and I will get a call on Sunday to come pick it up. Likely??? Ya, not so much. I'm kind of bummed because I am going out of town Tuesday and won't be back until the next weekend. So in all reality, I won't pick it up until the 14th or 15th. Ugh, what timing!

I did have great fun watching the ship go through the Panama Canal. Both webcams had superb positions.

I'll still hold my breath for this weekend though.

I'd drop your MA a note and let him/her know. We had the same situation. It was a 2 hour drive to our dealership so that pretty much ruled out a weeknight. We couldn't get there before they closed. We were out of town the weekend after it got there so it would have been 2 weeks before we picked it up. They got the car Friday am and we picked it up Saturday morning. It was a little more rushed than they like but it beat them paying interest on the car sitting on their lot.

You never know....they process 400 cars a day at the VDC.

I've watched those Panama Canal web cams. Fascinating stuff. That would be so cool to watch.

That's a great idea! I'll call him today. If the car is still in perfect condition when it arrives, such a quick transition is possible.

They sure unloaded the ship quickly. I'm hoping the VDC isn't too busy. They had about 700 cars come in on Wednesday and nothing on the schedule for Thursday. My ship was the only one scheduled to come in on Friday. Maybe they got it done yesterday and .... No, that's just my wishful thinking. My MA said to expect it in by Thursday. I told him I'd be out of town (the only time I leave all summer and it has to be now!) and he said they will keep it in the basement until I pick it up. At least it won't be on the lot getting touched and scratched by grubby hands. I'm taking comfort in that. I should pick it up one week from today. Ugh and Yay.

It does feel very weird having ordered a car in a color that I have never actually seen in real life. I've been looking at all the posted pictures I can find. It seems to be a totally different color than I thought.

We did the same thing....never saw the Pure Red in person but when they'll pulled it up...my mouth dropped open, the breath stuck in my throat and I felt a tear sting the corner of my eyes....and then I smiled a smile so big my face hurt.

Coolest thing happened yesterday. We went on a little road trip...turned 1000 miles...and pulled into a gas station just off the highway behind a chili red Mini. Behind us came a bright blue one. We all pulled into adjoining bays and had a Mini meet. It was cool to look at each others cars and share stories. They'd never seen a Countryman in person and loved Linus. We all left with smiles on our faces...

This week will go fast....really. You'll be driving with the same smile on your face this time next week.

Yeah...I can't believe how many miles we've put on him already in just 1 month.

Very little...tinted windows, stubby antenna and a grill badge. It already came pretty much the way we wanted. The window tinting was the best thing we could have done!! It not only helped the appearance and made it look more sporty but it really helped keep the interior cooler.

Yes, I surely win the "one with the most patience" award!

Well, my motoring buddies (who are all off motoring) I am ecstatic to report that after 18 LONG weeks (over 4 months) and occasional thoughts of canceling the order and being out of town the week that he arrived at the dealer, my baby has arrived!!!!! I picked him up today and it is true...I could hardly speak when I first saw him! I am beyond happy!!!

I have to thank you, Justmenmymini, for sticking around and helping me get through these last few weeks. It really meant a lot to me!!!

Congrat's Hurley! I know what you mean about the LONG wait and thoughts of wanting to cancel your order. I felt the same way quite a few times. Luckily it is finally over and I'm happy you're finally motoring.

Looking forward to the pictures!
