OK....I was AWOL for the day but only because I was motoring for most of the day. I had my delivery scheduled for 10am and I was out by about 12:30 or so. My MA's bday is on the 4th so I came bearing a bribe...I mean GIFT!! I was treated really well. She threw my stripes, JCW mesh scuttles and rubber boot mat into the deal at no cost and a "we owe" certificate for free oil change at 3000 miles. We had a bit of miscommunication over taxes as I purchased in IL and live in IN and she took another $400 off my bottom line for the confusion without me even having or thinking to ask....Maria Makris at Patrick MINI in Schaumburg, IL is great! Really easy to work with and very personable.
Maria's desk was right by the door outside of which was parked my car. EVERY person walking in or out during my time there was STARING at my car!! Made me feel pretty good about my choice.
I'm looking forward to the car providing me with many trouble free miles and even more smiles and I wish you all the same!

Damn, that sucks! Did they explain why did needed to take some more time? I hope nothing happened to it in transit from the VDC.

Nah. Nothing like that. It isn't scheduled to leave the VDC until friday. They said it would take a couple of days to go over the car and get the paperwork ready. We're out of town the next weekend so we may have to burn a half a days vacation to go pick it up. That's the part that sucks.

It's kinda a cruel joke. I thought the hard part was over...that we were in the home stretch. WRONG!! The waiting just gets worse! This is going to be the longest week of my life! I'm counting down like we did for our kids before a big vacation....

You gonna stripe it, luridone? What's gonna be your first mod?
Just talked to my MA, still no truck. He said there is a couple other people anxiously awaiting this truck also. He said he's worried they may not have done everything at the VDC like they were supposed too, apparently they were confused by the paperwork since I had made changes to the car. I'm a little worried.

I go back and forth on the stripes. For now, I like the cleaner look without. Not much on modding, but maybe as I get a better feel for the car something will strike me. Or not.

Yep. You think the dealer would be making a big deal about a truck that hasn't arrived. When I talk to my MA he's so laissez faire about it.
