It's been only 6 weeks from order date to when the dealer called me to tell me the car arrived! My first chance to go pick it up is Friday! I had the dealer snap me a first picture. Still has the plastic on and needs a bath. Will this week ever end???

Wow - only 6 days from Baltimore to Appleton? Mine hits port on the 30th, so perhaps it will be there earlier than I was thinking.

Will do Hoyme. I think it may have been even faster than that. I have a feeling it may have only been 5 days and was there on Sunday. But, who knows.

On Friday night I'm driving ZZ along the Fox River to Kaukauna, going out for dinner and then driving back to the north on D along the other side of the river back up to De Pere.

So, how did the whole pick up and initial drive experience go? Happy??

Mine is in Baltimore, and hope to be at the dealer next Monday - probably pick up on June 10. Hoping for June incentives. My car sat in Southampton for 10 days waiting for a ship, which is what caused it not to be here by today.

@hoyme... everything went great. The pickup of the vehicle was easy and smooth. Driving it all weekend was wonderful. I'm quickly becoming slightly obsessed with keeping the MINI clean. The fact that it's black and lives outside does not bode well for that goal.

The first drive was marred only by the fact that there was an infestation of lake flies when I went through Kaukauna. So MINIs first night home was spent with the bonnet under a large water soaked microfiber blanket to soften up the bug guts and make them easy to spray off the next morning.

I've blacked out the belt line already. I have to redo the driver side cause I didn't realize the best way to do it until I got around to the boot. This weekend I'll most likely be doing the gas cap as well. Then I'll be scheduling a tint job in the next week or so.

I'll probably stop back in to show Brandon and the rest of the guys. They are anxious to see the blacking out results.

Anyway... It's been great so far and I'm extremely happy with my decision along with the experience of ordering, purchasing, and owning a MINI.
