It's 1:00p.m., as I look out the window at my '08 VW R32 for the last time, I am not sad. Why not, because at 3:00 today I pick up my 2011 MINI S.HOrizon Blue/Back Roof and mirrow caps,conv. package w/connected, cold weather,premium, sport, alarm and auto trans(auto so the wife can drive if I've had afew too many).
Have lurked about the forum for a month now. read many a great posts,good and bad. Thanks for all of the great info and insight. Is it 3:00p.m. yet?
And by the way we named the car Norbert with the help of my neice, a Harry Potter fan, Hagrid's baby dragon. Did I mention I'm picking it up today. What time is it?

Congrats to you on the great color choice! Mine arrives at VDC in NY/NJ tomorrow. I would have convinced my wife that knowing how to drive a manual is necessary survival skill, but l am lucky that she knew how already.

coming from an R32 eh... a friend of mine used to wish I had that car... was it fast, stop-light wise?

I'd be interested in hearing your reactions from going there to the new MINI. Enjoy it ... and don't feel bad about the auto at all, it's a blast, paddles are perfect and just press the Sport button a lot

 

I was looking at the GTI as well, but ended up getting the MCS. Similar loadout, different colors.
