From hardtop to ragtop

Last week, I said goodbye to my trusted hardtop, Dory (2007 MC S) and said hello to my new companion, Daisy (2006 MC S JCW). I had the opportunity to buy another brand convertible, but MINI's are just too much fun and have too much personality to pass up.

It was fun while it lasted, Dory. I'll miss you.

Say hello to my little friend, Daisy.

Are you going to get stripes for Daisy too? She's kinda naked with out since Dory had it.

Thanks. I got the sunshade about 5 years ago from eBay. Since Disney's Cars 2 is coming out soon, they'll probably start making them again.

that's what my husband said. I'm thinking about the magnetic racing stripes but I'll have to see what the folks here say about it and if causes any discoloration. Still in the process of putting her together...she still needs a good tint job, a wind deflector, an auxilliary adapter and a few more add-ons. I should be changing out her antenna out with a shorter one this week.

I wish they would make a blue version of it, instead of the red. Lightening McQueen should've been laser blue.

Window tint, you only have front windows right?

I'm also debating if I want the stubby antenna or not. I'll wait and see how I feel once I get my Mini.

So as a person who has swum up-current so to speak by going from a GEN2 to a GEN1 assuming you did not have a GEN1 previously

what are your impressions between the two?

most of us who made the change followed the progression of time and went GEN1 to GEN2

inquiring minds want to know.

It's still too early to tell. Having owned 2 other ragtops (non-Minis), I know I wanted to go back to it and having a MINI plus a ragtop, I have the best of both worlds. Of course, having the extra horses underneath the hood also helps.

I'll be getting tint on the driver/passenger side windows, the two small ones in the rear, the back window and a small strip for the front window...unfortunately I can only go up to 35% but it'll help cut down the glare. The short antenna, I think makes the car look better but of course, everyone has their own preference.
