2003 Mini cooper S not starting

I am having issues starting my mini. It had sat without being started for around 6 months. I bought a new battery for it since the old one was bad. All lights come on but when I push in the clutch and turn the key nothing happens - not even a click. I am thinking it's the starter but not 100% on that. Any ideas would really be appreciated. Thanks.

In cases such as these I would check fuses first.

Even the fuse module in the boot's battery box.

Was there no battery or a dead battery in the MINI all that time btw ?

Do you at least have 12V to the positive terminal in the engine bay? While not to the starter, it's at least in the general vicinity.

If you have a helper, or failing that, position a meter so you can see the voltage and then turn the key. Drops to 0? No change? I'm wondering if you have a bad connection between the front half and back half of the car since the battery is remote.

Could be bad clutch switch?

I think there's a 100A fuse on the bottom of the fuse box for the starter?

Trying to think smaller/easier before tearing into getting to starter.
